- Use a unique password for each account. Don't reuse passwords across accounts.
Why is a secure password so important?
Your email often acts as the central hub of your digital life. It's where password resets or authentication codes are sent, sensitive communications are stored, and personal or business information flows daily. So password security is essential for safeguarding your email package. If someone gains access to your email, they can potentially unlock other accounts, impersonate you, or even compromise your professional reputation.
A strong password acts as your first line of defence against unauthorised access. Simple or reused passwords are easy targets for hackers using automated tools or phishing scams. By choosing a long, complex password that's unique to your account, you significantly reduce the risk of intrusion. This is especially important if your email is tied to your business, client communications, or financial platforms.
