The knowledge to know how
Is there a size limit on the emails I can send/receive?
There is a size limit of 50MB per email. We set this to prevent some types of attack which send many large files and can shut down your email service. If you need to send, or someone needs to send you a larger email, try the following:
- Use a 'zip' facility such as Windows 'send to > compressed (zipped) folder' or WinZip to compress the attachments into a zip file. This can significantly reduce the file size.
- If the email contains more than one attachment, send the attachments in separate emails.
- Some email software allows a message to be broken up into parts which works with many attachments.
